Hiring a PC/HELP DESK TECHNICIAN (Field Position) To Join Our Leadership Team!

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is seeking a PC/Help Desk Technician. This field position will be part of our IT team which supports 100+ onsite and offsite locations in 8 states. Responsibilities will include providing support to our restaurants and corporate office in these areas: PC, network, email, smart phones and maintenance of servers. The PC/Help Desk Technician will also provide IT support via our Help Desk system.  Our ideal candidate will be a dedicated, high-energy person who is eager to grow with our team.
This field position requires 75% local Chicago travel. Candidates will commute to the IT office in Morton Grove, the LEYE corporate office in Chicago, plus multiple locations in the Chicago area (city and suburban). This person must be extremely flexible with scheduling, including weekend on-call availability. EOE. E-Verify.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with server maintenance
  • Knowledge of PC repair and troubleshooting
  • Open availability for scheduling including weekend on-call availability
  • Ability to commute using employee-provided vehicle to multiple locations in a timely manner, frequently transporting, lifting & loading equipment up to 50 lbs (NOTE: Field position with 75% travel– both Chicago city/suburban and out-of-state.)
Help desk experience and/or A+ certification are a plus, but not required. Military or field tech experience is also a plus.

 POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide support to stores and corporate office with Mainframe, PC hardware/software and all networking. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following:
  • Coordinate/Perform necessary calls on PC hardware.
  • Assist in site preparation of PC acquisitions.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of all equipment located at stores.
  • Clean/Coordinate cleaning of all PC equipment.
  • Assist in the defining and obtaining of PC software and hardware.
  • Install/Upgrade new software.
  • Provide customer and technical support by tracking issues via the LEYE Help Desk System.
  • Provide IT staff with information as to software/hardware issues and trends.
  • Route and assign tickets to the appropriate IT team member.
  • Coordinate all cell phone and Blackberry configuration (set-up).
  • Basic troubleshooting and training for cell phone and Blackberry users.
  • Perform minor upgrades to Blackberry Server and software as needed.
  • Create and delete mailboxes and maintain the security permissions.
  • Troubleshoot e-mail problems on client computers.
  • Maintain security policies for cell phone/blackberry users.
  • Troubleshoot the remote access connectivity problems for stores and if required visit the store in person.
  • Evaluate software/hardware to future use by stores or Corporate Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of passwords, company records and information.
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers, partners, corporate staff and coworkers
  • Communicate in English in order to comprehend and perform/follow job requirements in written and spoken direction.

  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
