Job Requirements

Responsible for receiving and storing all restaurant deliveries ensuring product accuracy, quality, zoning and rotation.  Additional duties include the preparation and production of readying foods, garnishes and condiments to be used on the line or for service.  Also responsible for assisting in the general cleanliness of the storage areas and back of the house.

DUTIES

  • Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
  • Get along with others and be a team player
  • Receive restaurant deliveries, accurately reading purchase orders and product invoices checking for accuracy, quality and safety
  • Prepare food items and ingredients needed for menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests
  • Safely and efficiently use knives and other tools, utensils and equipment necessary to complete preparation of menu items.
  • Reject any product not meeting quality or safety standards, making note on the invoice
  • Maintain food quality and safety standards
  • Accurately use and read a thermometer and a scale
  • Store deliveries following standard zoning procedures, rotating all perishable items using the “first in first out” method of storage
  • Inventory supplies and communicate needs to management, organize and clean all coolers and storage areas, and assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the back of the house
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation (including handwashing) guidelines and procedures
  • Be proficient in the use and operation of all necessary equipment
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate in English in order to comprehend and perform/follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
  • Perform more than one task at a time, calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment
  • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces
