LETTUCE ENTERTAIN YOU RESTAURANTS is hiring a part-time MARKETING INTERN to work with our Shaw's Crab House, Quality Crab & Oyster Bah & Tokio Asian Fusion marketing team!

We're looking for someone who is hungry to develop their skills in our fast-moving industry - any restaurant experience is a huge plus! Our intern will work directly under our Marketing Manager out of our Chicago restaurant locations; any travel to Schaumburg locations would be provided.  

  • Professional social media experience required
  • This internship requires approx. 20-25 hours/week of availability, preferably working with our team on the same days consistently

Job Requirements

Supports the divisional marketing team including but not limited to creating and posting content for all social channels used within the division; assists in growing social media audiences.

Essential Functions

  • Create, develop, write, edit, schedule, and post content (written/photo/video) for designated social channels including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Google and LinkedIn, and maintain calendars for divisional social media content
  • Assist divisional Marketing team with growing social media audiences on all channels by strategically following accounts and interacting with influencers
  • Assist in cultivating and maintaining relationships with social media influencers including but not limited to extending invitations, setting up reservations, and sharing recaps with the marketing team
  • Respond to reviews and customer service issues (e.g., reservations, compliments, complaints, etc.) received through social media platforms and third party sites
  • Assist with photo and video shoots for restaurants in the division
  • Assist with divisional donation events including but not limited to set up/breakdown, attending event, and networking with guests
  • Create and maintain online store profiles for third party sites such as Yelp and OpenTable
  • Organize and name divisional photos in LEYE online photo site
  • Maintain availability to work a variety of days and shifts including weekends as needed
  • Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
  • Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
  • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
  • Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces

 Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Attend LEYE Corporate Marketing Manager meetings as directed
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
  • Successfully complete alcohol awareness training
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Get along well with others and be a team player
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed
